Sennett Area in the Lucky Heights Neighbourhood had a special guest visitor, Dr Mohd Maliki Osman, dropping in on 10th April 2011. Residents were pleasantly surprised and welcomed him in spite of the drizzle. Pictures were taken. Do view them at Siglap Blog.

A Family Camping Event to foster family bonding in the Great Outdoors.

There'll be a Pot Luck Street Party for the residents at 64-76 Sennett Avenue on 23rd Dec 2009. It's an event that LHNC hopes to encourage to promote neighbourliness. Siglap book

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, Siglap has published our very own book, 'Celebrating Siglap'. It tells us the history of Siglap and is a very interesting read. Our more senior residents can reminisce over old times and the younger ones can learn how Siglap came to be what it is now.

This book is available at Siglap CC in both hard and soft covers.

Our own Gardening Club

Once again we're calling all you green fingers out there in our Lucky Heights to join our very own Gardening Club.

We're hoping to get the club started with a tea party where all members can share their tips and maybe even species of plants. We can get NParks to give us talks and if we're lucky even assistance in joining the Community in Bloom Programme.

Sungei Buloh Wetland

" The Lucky HeightsNeighbourhood Committee (LHNC) organised a trip for residents to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve on Sunday, 31 May 09. The hot and sultry morning saw 25 participants merrily trudging along sandy tracks within the reserve, stopping now and then to admire the natural mangrove or excitedly scream at a monitor lizard basking in the sun! Birds seemed to be everywhere and chirped non-stop. At the end of the two-hour excursion, the residents trooped to the waiting chartered bus to bring them back to Lucky Heights, but not before they stopped at Sungei Kadut Coffee shop to grab a well-earned lunch. Altogether, it was a well-spent and pleasant outing, and some of the photographs (see below) taken at the walk......"

Walkabout on 14-Febuary-2009

As the title suggests, the walkabout was conducted on the 14th Febuary starting from Parbury Ave. MP for the East Coast GRC Mr Abdullah Tarmugi and several Grassroot Leaders visited some residents to gather feedback on how living conditions within our neighbourhood could be improved. Afterall this is our home.

If you were wondering why 14th Febuary sounded so familiar, just to refresh your memory a little... it was Valentine's Day. This day was named after Saint Valentinus of Terni from Italy who got executed in 270.

New Year Party at Coasta Del Sol

The year year started off with a bang with the new year being celebrated in style at Coasta Del Sol on the 31st Jan 2009.

The celebration included a Lion Dance welcome.

Some fun facts:

Did you know that Lion Dance was originated in India and not China.

Lion dance is generally categorised into 2 different styles mainly the Northern and Southern.

The Northern is typically acrobatic and is mainly performed as entertainment while the Southern style is more symbolic as it is usually performed as a ceremony to exorcise evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune.

Mid Autumn Festival Celebrations -13 Sep 2008

LHNC is planning a trip to River Promenade on Sat 13 Sep to enjoy the Mid Autumn Festival by the River. We hope to gather about 40 residents (a busload). Venue for bus pickup is Lucky Court at 6pm. July 2008 Walkabout

The Walkabout that is scheduled for 5th July is postponed to the morning of 13th July 2008. Police, NEA officers and LHNC Members will be visiting residents along Upper East Coast Rd and Evergreen Rd. The Committee Members will also be selling National Flags to the residents for them to fly during this coming National Day Celebration period.

National Day Observance Ceremony August 2008

This event is held every year on National Day in the morning where we, the citizen pledge our loyalty to our nation. This year the event will be held in Temasek Primary School.
